America West Flight

I just flew home to Detroit the other week.  I was visiting some family members and friends that I hadn't seen in a long time.  My mother, my sister, my little brother Jerry – I had not seen any of them in months.  I was happy to get to go home and visit them, but I was also anxious.  You see, my sister had just recently got engaged, and I've heard very mixed things about her fiancé.  My mother liked him but my father could not stand him, and of course my little brother never really liked anyone who we brought home.  Boarding the American West flight at four in the morning, I remember having this unreasonable feeling of anxiety.  I even wondered if I was having one of those premonitions you hear about – if my America West flight was going to crash before I ever got into the airport.

Actually, there were some problems with America West Airlines that day.  It took the America West flight about two extra hours to get off the ground.  There was never any explanation given about this – they just told us that there was a delay and they were sorry for the inconvenience.  At first I was annoyed, but soon I didn't care.  I was blissfully asleep, and nothing in the world could touch me.

By the time the America West flight landed that afternoon, it was about three clock local time.  I always enjoyed taking America West flights before, but now was rethinking it.  I do use one of those online cheap airline flight websites, and this flight seemed to be the cheapest.  Now I could see why!  The seat was cramped, the service is poor, and there was that long horrible delay that was never explained.

As it turned out however, the America West flight was the only part of that trip that sucked.  The rest of it want well.  It was actually one of the best visits I've had with my family in years.  There was not a single fight the whole time, which is a rarity among my clan, and I really liked the fiancé.  Even the return trip was easy.  The America West flight home went smoothly, and actually got in ahead of schedule.  To top it off, I was seated next to this very attractive and interesting woman, and had a long conversation with her that lasted the entire flight.  We have a date set up for next week!
